With origins in Mythology, Epic, Legend and Fairie Tale, the modern Fantasy novel has a rich heritage of writers such as George MacDonald, J.R.R. Tolkein, Lord Dunsany and Lewis Carroll who paved the way for modern geniuses like Ursula K. Le Guin, Neil Gaiman, Patrick Rothfuss, J.K. Rowling and Terry Pratchett. Fantasy as a genre is now entrenched in the world of literature with new sub-genres—high, literary, comic, sci-fi, flintlock, grimdark, and more—emerging all the time. Join Jenny M. Duggan Jackson, writer and MFA, on a journey into fantasy writing to create your own novel or story.
