what's happening

James McNeill Whistler and The Dixon Gallery and Gardens is pleased to present the exhibition James McNeill Whistler: Selected Works from the Hunterian Art Gallery. Never before toured, selected works from the world-famous collection of the artist's estate will come to the United States for the first time, at the Dixon. These works, along with some of Whistler's personal effects, were donated to the Hunterian by Rosalind Birnie Philip, youngest sister of Whistler's wife Beatrix. The items provide an intimate portrait of the life and times of this famed American expatriate.

This exhibition was toured by International Arts and Artists and sponsored by Phillip H. McNeill Family and Equity Inns, Inc., Buckeye Technologies, Inc., Concord, A First Data Company, and installation sponsor PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
