December 4 | 20th Century Composers:  How - sometimes Abstract and sometimes Expressionist - Orchestral Composers evolved Society (and Vice Versa) with Maestro Robert Moody, Music Director, Memphis Symphony Orchestra

Maestro Moody takes an in-depth look at how composers with names like Stravinsky, Schoenberg, Copland, and Bernstein evolved the orchestral palette during the era of Abstract Expressionism in art.  He also highlights current composers, who continue that musical evolution.  The lecture is held during the week of MSO’s ‘Messiah’ performances, and so Moody also gives a small nod of insight to an evolutionary composer of the 18th century – George Frideric Handel.
