Join Opera Memphis for a FREE PERFORMANCE of Jake Heggie's charming one-woman show At the Statue of Venus at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens on April 10 at 2 pm!

A beautiful young woman awaits her unknown blind date at the statue of Venus, goddess of love, full of curiosity, uncertainty, and - above all - hope. During 30 Days of Opera, Opera Memphis will present FREE performances of this charming one-woman show on April 9 at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, April 10 at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens, and April 26 at the Art Museum of the University of Memphis. At the Statue of Venus is written by composer Jake Heggie (Moby Dick, It's a Wonderful Life, Bon Appetit!) with lyrics by Terrance McNally (Three Decembers, Dead Man Walking, Ragtime) and will be performed by Handorf Company Artist Keely Futterer. Approximate run time: 30 minutes.
