Tours at the Dixon

There has never been a better time to get to know the Dixon. And there is no better avenue than by taking a group tour. Twenty-four of Jun Kaneko’s large-scale ceramic and bronze sculptures have been placed throughout the Dixon gardens, and it is the most ambitious outdoor sculpture installation in Dixon history.  We would love for you to interact with these monumental sculptures on an exciting and educational docent tour now through the exhibition closing on November 22, 2015.

The Dixon offers a variety of tours so every visitor can experience the wonder of the Dixon. For questions about tours, please contact Amanda Bjorklund, 901-312-1240 or

Types of Tours:

Tours at 2pm, Sundays and Tuesdays

  • Meet at the gardens admissions booth to experience the beauty of all seventeen acres of the Dixon Gardens with a Dixon Docent.
  • Each tour provides a different experience as docents have designed tours around different areas of the gardens and Kaneko’s sculptures.

Special Group Tour:

  • Schedule a visit for you and your friends to experience the vast beauty of the Dixon Gardens and Kaneko’s sculptures. (see below for pricing)

Dixon Discovery:

  • Designed for children from 1st through 5th grade, Dixon Discovery tours allow students to form a meaningful connection with works of art through a tour and fun art project.

 Self-Guided Tours:

  • These tours can be the most entertaining because you have the power to create your own experience. Maybe you want to tour Jun Kaneko’s Tanukis (located in the Woodland Garden) like you are on an adventure in the woods or maybe you want to meditate with Kaneko’s large-scale orange head on the East Lawn. A map will guide you to each sculpture so you can discover the beauty of all seventeen acres of the Dixon Gardens through Kaneko’s sculpture.
