More Than Words Family Day Design by Kamiya Mitchell
At 2019 Dixon Art Camp, campers learned Adobe Illustrator and created the graphics for the quarterly Dixon Family Day events of 2020.
For my “More Than Words” poster, I was inspired by the aesthetic of a library and books. Since books and language have been around for ages, the background color is inspired by the color of old book pages. The reading glasses and the open book show that someone had been reading. Also, I included words in the background because without words, creating books would be basically impossible. - Kamiya Mitchell, Overton High School, age 14, grade 9
