Bijoux is for Kids, too!

This past Sunday, The Dixon Gallery & Gardens opened the doors to its newest exhibition Bijoux parisiens: French Jewelry from the Petit Palais, Paris . In conjunction with its dazzling debut, the Dixon seeks to open the minds of its younger visitors by offering an interactive room where children can unleash their creativity and escape into their imaginations as professional jewelers. This magical place is called "Bijoux Studio." [caption id="attachment_1191" align="aligncenter"... Read More

Dixon Easter Egg Hunt: A Springtime Tradition

On Saturday, March 23rd, families, friends, and Dixon staff members gathered together at Garrot Court to celebrate the Easter holiday.  With colorful eggs full of candy and even a visit from the Easter Bunny himself, kids of all ages enjoyed this springtime tradition, despite the unusually cold weather. Meet the Dixon’s “Star” Flower: The Daffodil

With its unique trumpet-shape and a ring of glowing petals resembling a star-shaped pattern, the daffodil remains to be one of the most popular flowers this time of year. Symbolizing friendship, new beginnings, and happiness, it’s no surprise that this colorful harbinger of spring has a way of lifting your spirits. And if it's true that the daffodil really is the "friendship flower", then the Dixon might just be the friendliest place around. Daffodils are divided into 13 divisions... Read More

A new semester has begun and after school activities and clubs are in full swing. I got caught up in the moment and signed my four year old up for 3 different after school activities; soccer, ballet, and of course art. Sure, preschoolers get arts and crafts in with every assignment. It is how they learn best after all! But most of what she gets is step-by-step- instructions from the teacher. It makes a beautiful product and my refrigerator is full of handmade crafts. After school art clubs are... Read More
