Bring your brown bag lunch to the Dixon and join in the discussion! Local artists, experts, and the Dixon’s staff will share their knowledge of the arts and horticulture with talks, demonstrations, and great conversation.

Enjoy an informative guided tour of current exhibitions and the collection led by our friendly curatorial staff.

Every third Thursday at 6:00 pm

Every third Thursday, the galleries and gardens are open until 8:00 pm. Free with admission. Light refreshments, entertainment, and cash bar. 

Dixon Book Club

Every third Thursday at 6:00 pm

Join us each third Thursday for an interactive discussion on great reads! Selections will include up and coming authors, as well as old favorites.

Saturday Sketch

Second Saturday of the month, 10 - 11 am

The Dixon Gallery and Gardens is now offering open studio time in the galleries and gardens. Bring your sketchbook and pencils, and an art instructor will be there to answer questions and give advice on how to advance your skills. Photographs (without flash) of the permanent collection are allowed so participants can take a reference photo, and then complete their masterpiece with other media at home. Pencils only please. Folding stools available. Walk-in program. Free with regular admission.



First and third Tuesdays of each month

The Dixon offers Mosaics, an art therapy program designed for care organizations serving seniors with dementia and early stages of Alzheimer’s. Mosaics offers two sessions, on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The first Tuesday uses the TimeSlips method for creating stories based on art at the Dixon and the third Tuesday is an art making session.
