Explore your creativity and learn something new through hands-on adult workshops at the Dixon. Led by artists, makers, horticulturists, and other guest instructors, workshops introduce a variety of materials, techniques, and creative practices. Topics change throughout the year, offering opportunities for beginners and experienced participants to build skills, create original work, and connect with others.

It’s pumpkin season, and we’re feeling crafty! Join us in the greenhouse and create your own unique and festive centerpiece. We’ll provide the pumpkins, succulents, sphagnum moss, and everything you need to make your autumnal masterpiece.

How can a work of art move? Learn from art and nature, whether you are an artist, art lover, or are entirely new to the world of art. The practice of observation will enhance your ability to interact with artwork and provide inspiration for your own search into the mysteries of nature. This workshop includes two days of looking, learning, drawing, and painting. John Springer is an American artist whose work has been featured in galleries, fairs and universities. He offers museum workshops around the world, where he guides participants in the practice of painting and drawing
