Set on seventeen acres in the heart of East Memphis, Dixon Gallery and Gardens is a free art museum and public garden where every visit feels a little like an exhale. Whether you're driving in from Germantown, Collierville, Bartlett, or Southaven, getting here is easy - and once you arrive, admission is on us. Admission
Free, For Good.
General admission to Dixon Gallery and Gardens is free. Every gallery, every garden path, every season - at no cost. This is a gift to our community, made possible by our members, donors, and friends.
The Dixon is also a proud Blue Star Museum, offering free admission year-round to active-duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve.

- Tuesday – Friday: 10 am – 5 pm
- Third Thursdays: 10 am – 8 pm (extended evening hours)
- Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm
- Sunday: 1 pm – 5 pm
- Closed Mondays

The Dixon's seventeen acres hold more than you can see in a single loop - formal gardens, woodland paths, sculpture, the Residence, the main galleries, the museum shop, and Park + Cherry café all tucked across the grounds.
Before you arrive (or once you're standing in the parking lot wondering where to start), take a look at the Dixon Map. It lays out every garden, gallery, and gathering spot so you can plan a route that fits the time you have, whether that's a quick walk through the tulips or a slow afternoon with the full collection.
Parking Information
Parking at the Dixon is free and on-site, with spacious lots just inside the Park Avenue entrance. ADA-accessible spaces are located closest to the museum entrance.
- Standard car parking: no permit, no fee
- Accessible parking: front lot, marked spaces near the main entrance
- Bus and motorcoach parking: available for group visits - please get in touch so we can save you a spot
Before You Arrive
A few small things that make a Dixon visit even better:
- Allow 1.5 to 2.5 hours to experience both the galleries and the gardens at a comfortable pace
- Strollers are welcome in the galleries and on the main garden paths
- Browse activities ahead of time to find tours, family programs, and seasonal events worth planning your visit around
Group Visits
Bringing a class, a club, a tour group, or a corporate team? We'd love to host you.
- Self-guided group visits are free and can be booked in advance
- Guided tours are available for groups of 10 or more - request at least three weeks ahead
- School and youth tours can be tailored by grade level and subject
- Senior groups, garden clubs, and travel groups are all warmly welcomed
