Dixon Gallery & Gardens Photography Policy

General Visitor Photography

Photography is allowed in the gardens, as well as most of the museum. Photography may be prohibited for temporary/visiting exhibitions—admissions staff will inform you of any limitations during your visit. Tripods and flash photography are not permitted in any galleries. The use of drones and selfie sticks are prohibited in all areas. Please feel free to share your photos on social media using the hashtag #discoverthedixon.

Professional Photography and Videography

Commercial photography and videography at the Dixon is defined as images or video created in or of the Dixon property that any individual or organization intends to use for commercial, professional, advertising, or promotional purposes, including but not limited to film or television, advertising, retail merchandising, marketing, portfolio, educational, or published material, or any purpose for which the photographer or videographer is paid for the use of the image or video. Commercial shoots may involve props, changes of clothing, extensive equipment, and/or models or staged items. Portrait photography falls under this category and includes but is not limited to the following types of photographs: family, baby and pregnancy, wedding and engagement, class or team, prom or fraternity/sorority function, and quinceañera.
