Munch and Learn: Tangible Memories in the Café

Tangible Memories in the Café

Alexander Roach, Owner/Roaster Boycott Coffee

"Alexander “Zan” Roach is the founder of Boycott Coffee, a Memphis-based coffee roastery and cafe that uses the beverage as a starting point for conversations about labor, history, culture, and place. A lifelong Memphian and graduate of the University of Memphis with a master’s degree in Curriculum Design used to support English as Second Language classrooms, Alexander brings an educator’s perspective to his work, blending specialty coffee with publishing, workshops, cassette culture, and storytelling. His projects explore how everyday rituals can connect people to larger social and historical ideas. Through roasting, education, and media, he is working to build and support efforts that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and stronger local communities."

Wednesdays can be especially busy at Park and Cherry. If you're attending Munch and Learn, please plan ahead and place your lunch orders early. To reduce disruptions during the lecture, guests are asked to bring their own food from the cafe to the auditorium. You may request to-go containers to make the trip to your seat easier.

▶ Pre-order by calling (901) 312-1277.
