Memphis gardens don't go quiet in winter, they just change shape. During this session, Marisa Mender-Franklin, the farmer and florist behind Midtown Bramble and Bloom, will show you how she uses berries, seed pods, dried grasses and evergreen boughs to create beautiful, local arrangements. You'll leave inspired to add some local texture to your holiday decorating this year.

Marisa Mender-Franklin is the farmer and florist behind Midtown Bramble & Bloom, an urban micro flower farm and flower shop based in Cooper-Young. She grew up in the garden, helping her grandparents tend roses and dahlias, and her mother keep her cottage garden thriving. After growing the flowers for her own wedding in 2020, Marisa started Midtown Bramble & Bloom.

The farm began with a single Facebook post: Marisa asked her neighbors if anyone would let her grow flowers in their yard. Within a week, she had more than 40 offers of land. Today, Midtown Bramble grows across 10 garden plots tucked into backyards and spare lots throughout Midtown. It is truly an effort in community. All of it is grown using regenerative, organic practices that build soil health, feed pollinators, and foster biodiversity.

Midtown Bramble & Bloom offers specialty cut flowers, gardening education, and event florals to Memphis neighbors, along with workshops on everything from wreath making to seasonal arranging.

Wednesdays can be especially busy at Park and Cherry. If you're attending Munch and Learn, please plan ahead and place your lunch orders early. To reduce disruptions during the lecture, guests are asked to bring their own food from the cafe to the auditorium. You may request to-go containers to make the trip to your seat easier.
