Ellen Daugherty has been playing Irish-style fiddle in Central Virginia and Memphis for more than 20 years. During this Munch & Learn she will demonstrate different types of Irish tunes and talk about the difference between Irish-born or Irish-diaspora musicians who are understood to belong “authentically” to their traditions and those musicians who, like herself, play “in the tradition” as outsiders. A sing-along is probably inevitable!
