Dixon members are invited to a special lecture hosted by the Memphis Horticulture Society!

Jason Reeves is the Ornamental Horticulturist at the West TN AgResearch Center in Jackson, TN and is an invaluable resource to all of us in the gardening community. In addition, he’s a very informative and entertaining speaker! In his presentation, Jason will discuss “Garden Heroes” – plants that he has identified as proven performers. With his extensive experience in gardens and landscapes, Jason has found that new is not always better. This talk will have you racing to the nursery to try out these champions of the garden that include old standbys and newer established players. These annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees are sure to please. Favorites include: Cuphea Vermillionaire®, Asclepias physocarpa (Swan Butterfly Weed), Amsonia hubrichtii (Arkansas Bluestar), Spiraea thunbergii ‘Ogon’, Juniperus conferta ‘All Gold’, Liquidambar styraciflua ‘Slender Silhouette’ (Sweetgum), and Cercis chinensis ‘Don Egoff’ (Chinese Redbud).
