A Garden Club of America Major Flower Show

Presented biennially by the Memphis Garden Club, the Memphis Flower Show is one of only eight major flower shows sanctioned by the Garden Club of America. Over the past forty years, the Memphis Flower Show has come to be known as the most cutting-edge and also the most hospitable of all the GCA major shows. Flower shows combine horticultural mastery, artistic vision, engineering, and sophisticated craftsmanship to create a brief but brilliant display of beauty. The 2024 Memphis Flower Show, Rhythm & Hues, features exhibits inspired by Memphis 2024.

Rhythm & Hues is divided into five distinct divisions. Floral Design requires participants to interpret works of art into avant-garde floral arrangements. The Horticultural Design division includes horticulture and natural compositions classed into categories of cut flowers, cut branches and foliage, and container-grown plants. Every two years, the Photography division delights visitors with creative snapshots of the natural world. Botanical Arts invites participants to embellish jewelry and accessories with botanical life. he Conservation exhibit is devoted to educating our community on rain gardens as a solution for excess water runoff in urban environments, as well as tips for how to establish a rain garden at home. Garden Club of America judges assembled from across the country will judge each division. The Dixon is grateful to Kathryn Painter and Kaki Smith, co-chairs of the 2024 Memphis Flower Show, and to Pam Martin, president of the Memphis Garden Club, for this exciting, beautiful, and beloved collaboration.
