Ongoing Programs:

NEW! Sprouts (12-24 months)

Thursdays, 10:30am – 11:30am  |  Members free; $8 non-members

Look, listen, walk, talk, touch, smell, sing, discover! This interactive program for toddlers and their caregivers explores the Dixon with all the senses, building social and motor skills, encouraging creative play, and having a ton of fun.

Mini Masters (ages 2-4)

Every Tuesday  |  10:30am  11:15am  |  Free for Members; $8 for non-members

This parent-child workshop is designed for toddlers to explore, shape, texture, color, and other sensory possibilities through art making. Each Tuesday offers a fun learning experience for you and your child, which includes a story time, hands-on art activity, and snack.

Kaleidoscope Club (ages 5-9)

Wednesdays, 4:00pm – 5:00pm  |  Members free; $8 non-members

For younger artists, Kaleidoscope Club offers a perfect mix of everything the Dixon has to offer. Each week we will begin a project that is meant to spark creativity and critical thinking. Whether it is horticulture, art, or literature, your child will surely exercise his or her imagination. Snack provided.

NEW! -ology (ages 10-13)

Collage-ology: July 13, 20, and 27, 1:30pm-4:00pm 

For young artists who are fascinated by remixing the world around them, collage-ology is sure to inspire! Combining different materials to create a new work, the collage artist knows how to play with context, symbolism, and proportion to great effect. During this workshop, young -ologists will develop their understanding of visual language through projects inspired by collage masters across the ages. Dress for a mess and be prepared to adventure outdoors.

Family Programs: 

Family Studio (all ages)

First Saturday of the month:  July 6, August 3, September 7 |  10:00am  12:00pm  |  Free 

Looking for something new and fun to do with the family on Saturday morning? Drop in at the Dixon for Family Studio, where families can create magnificent works of art, play a game, solve a puzzle, or explore the world of art through children's books. Each month highlights a different work of art from one of our exhibitions or the gardens. Please check our event calendar for more information.

Pajama Party Family Night | Saturday, August 17, 2019, 5:00pm – 8:00pm

We’re wrapping up the summer with a pajama party! Put on your favorite PJs, and come to the Dixon for a fun-filled evening of blanket forts, games and crafts, stories and songs, favorite sleepover treats, and more... Pajamas optional!

Girl Scout Badges at the Dixon

Dixon Gallery and Gardens and Girl Scouts Heart of the South have teamed up to make it easy and fun to earn a variety of badges at the Daisy, Brownie, Junior, and Cadette levels. Bring your troop to learn about subjects from painting to gardening while enjoying everything the Dixon has to offer. Girl Scout Badge workshops are two hours and meet all requirements for the badge.

Supplies included.
Cost: $5 per participant.

Troop leaders are responsible for provided badges.
