Virtual Programs:

Fall Break in a Bag
(Recommended for ages 5+)

Create your own Fall Break adventure at home with the Dixon’s Fall Break in a Bag! Make, sculpt, explore, and imagine with a Dixon tote overflowing with over 20 assorted art supplies. Each bag also includes a materials list, tips for special supplies, and project ideas and prompts.

Porch delivery will be provided locally to the address provided at registration. Deliveries will take place Friday, October 2 and Friday, October 9. Limited bags available – while supplies last.

Fall Break in a Bag

¡Crea tu propia aventura de Vacaciones de Otoño en casa con el Fall Break in a Bag del Dixon! Crea, esculpe, explora e imagina con un bolsa del Dixon repleta con más de 20 materiales de arte variados. Cada bolsa también incluye una lista de materiales, consejos para suministros especiales e ideas e indicaciones para proyectos.

Sprouts (12-24 months)

More early childhood virtual programming coming soon.
On-site programming for Sprouts is canceled until further notice. 

Look, listen, walk, talk, touch, smell, sing, discover! This interactive program for toddlers and their caregivers explores the Dixon with all the senses, building social and motor skills, encouraging creative play, and having a ton of fun.

Mini Masters (ages 2-4)

More early childhood programming coming soon.
On-site programming for Minis is canceled until further notice. 

This parent-child workshop is designed for toddlers to explore, shape, texture, color, and other sensory possibilities through art-making. Each week offers a fun learning experience for you and your child, which includes storytime, and hands-on activity.

Kaleidoscope Club (ages 5-9)

VIRTUAL (free)
Wednesdays, 4:00pm – 4:30pm

For the younger artists, Kaleidoscope Club has a perfect mix of everything the Dixon has to offer. Each week participants will enjoy a project that sparks creativity and critical thinking. Whether it is horticulture, art, or literature, your child will surely exercise their imagination.

-ology (ages 10-13)

Saturdays, 1:30pm – 2:00pm

Now a weekly program!  -Ology is designed for young creators looking to ask big questions and challenge themselves with new experiences. Each month will follow a new theme from drawing to printmaking to gardening and more. This is a chance to discover new interests while building on social, critical thinking, and artmaking skills!

Kids in the Garden (ages 7-10)

This fun garden-themed workshop gives kids a chance to experience nature up close and learn the basics about horticulture and the flora around them.

VIRTUAL More Than Words Family Day

Words, illustrations, and bookbinding oh my! Enjoy a storied online event with games, crafts, performances, and more. Whether you are a fan of fantasy, poetry, or comics, there is sure to be something for everyone. Get your reading glasses and ready your mind for this fun-filled day!

Bring the whole family to Family Studio, where everyone can create unique works of art, open studio-style. A large assortment of supplies is available.

Girl Scout Badges at the Dixon

Planned to resume in 2021. 

Dixon Gallery and Gardens and Girl Scouts Heart of the South have teamed up to make it easy and fun to earn a variety of badges at the Daisy, Brownie, Junior, and Cadette levels. Bring your troop to learn about subjects from painting to gardening while enjoying everything the Dixon has to offer. Girl Scout Badge workshops meet all requirements for the badge. *Troop leaders are responsible for providing badges.

Daisies: 1.5 hours
Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes: 2 hours

Cost (includes supplies):
Workshop for 5-15 participants: $75; additional participants: $5 per child (maximum 20 participants)
